Facilities

Opening times for the Club House are in general the same as for the bar except that the Club is usually open before and after races, whether or not the bar is open.

Club Bar - Members and their guest only

Opening and closing times for the bar are decided by the Management Committee but, in general, the bar is open at the following times:

Summer Season:
Rest of the year:

Late July and all of August - 1200hrs-2300hrs
Weekdays: 1630hrs-2200hrs
Weekends: 1200hrs-2300hrs

Commodores Lounge Bar - Non members welcome

Summer Season:

15 July to 28 August - 1630hrs-2230hrs, 7 days a week

Newport Boat Club welcomes non members to its Commodore's Lounge, the room with wonderful views of the sea, estuary and surrounding area.

This is the upstairs bar with balcony, where one can relax in comfort after a day's activities. Alternatively non members may take their drinks out on to the Club lawn, treat the family from the barbecue and save yourself cooking at home.

Commodores Lounge (Our function room)

The Commodore's Lounge is available for hire by both members and non members.

  • It is a wonderful location for meetings, small conferences, parties and wedding receptions.
  • The room, which holds up to sixty seated, has an outside balcony with beautiful views of Newport Bay.
  • It has facilities for audio visual, Wi-Fi, a stair lift and free parking.
  • While it is self catering with a separate well equipped kitchen, we will supply staff for the fully stocked bar.

Guests

You are allowed to bring guests into the Club bar although no guest may visit more than 5 times per season. They must be signed-in at every visit in the visitor's book kept behind the bar. Guests are subject to the Club Rules and may remain only while you are there. You are responsible for their behaviour on Club premises.

Children under the supervision and control of parents are welcome in the Club, although we prefer adults only in the later evening hours.

Washing & Changing

We have excellent shower and washroom facilities; please do your best to keep them clean and tidy. The Club Manager controls access to the men's and women's showers.
