Sailing Home

Newport Boat Club supports most forms of enjoyment on the water, including sailing, rowing, canoeing, fishing or simply cruising around the bay. We place great value on the peacefulness of our setting and power boat owners are asked to keep to a low speed while in the vicinity of Parrog or in the estuary.

Moorings - mooring within the estuary of Newport is controlled by the local Boat Owners Association (Cymdeithas Gychod Afon Nyfer ac Harbour Tredraeth). For further details on moorings visit Newport Town webite.

Craft must be on a well maintained trailer, with fully inflated tyres and display a current Parking Permit. Craft must be removed from the Club grounds by September 30th. Craft not displaying a permit will be removed.

The Club disclaims any liability for theft or damage and all craft must be insured including third party liability insurance.

If you park your boat on The Green at the Parrog, remember that this land belongs to the Barony of Cemaes and that boat-parking there is not a right. However, boats are allowed to be left on The Green during August if they are parked within the designated area. It is advisable to make sure that no public function on The Green is imminent

Tuition and Training.

The Club is not a recognized RYA training establishment. Tuition is sometimes available from RYA qualified persons on an informal basis during August.

We encourage members to organize their own training and to have their own boats.
