COMMODORE'S AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEK NEWSLETTER

On the eve of the busiest week of the Summer at your Club approaches, this is a brief summary to help you enjoy all that is in offer.
The members bar is open from noon each day, and if you want to beat the queues at peak times next week please pop up to the additional members bar in the Commodore’s lounge, open for members and their guests only from 4.30pm daily just to give you another service point.
Please feel free to enjoy your drinks on the balcony whilst taking in the stunning views, and if you should find the balcony closed just ask a member of staff to open it for you.
There is a visiting jazz band treat on Sunday 27th August when Nye Banfield and his band return to play for you from 4.30pm.
On the water for those of you who sail and enjoy racing there are races almost daily, subject to conditions. The Club’s AGM is next Thursday 24th August at 6.30pm in the Commodore’s lounge. The notice and agenda has already been sent to voting members (the main NBC member in a household) and can be found also here: https://www.newportboatclub.co.uk/club-notices
There are four proposals for members to vote on at the meeting. The first two a) and b) are brought to members on the advice of our company lawyers Red Kite who suggested and reviewed them for Newport Boat Club. The further resolutions c) and d) on the agenda have been brought independently of the Management Committee or the Club’s lawyers, by members (which is perfectly allowable); for clarity these last two proposals have not been proposed or approved by Red Kite.
Hopefully there is something for everyone on offer at your club next week, fingers crossed for sunshine and sunsets to complete the week!
